Happy Birthday, With A Twist

By Byron Jonas

Different families have different traditions. Some live close enough to each other that a weekly dinner is easy enough to coordinate. For others, however, family members are spread out across the globe making casual get-togethers rather difficult. As a result, people are forced to wait many months in between visits with the entire family as a whole. For these people, family reunions are a joyous and highly anticipated event, where the entire family can come together as one and enjoy each other.

No matter what culture you are a part of a family reunion may very well be something that you participate in every year. However, the way in which you celebrate this lovely occasion may be totally unique compared to how others go about planning a similar event.

Family reunions, generally speaking, revolve around a large gathering and a large meal. For some people, a classic and favorite restaurant is the perfect place to gather the group and enjoy a long, relaxed dinner while catching up with everybody seated along the (extra long) table. This way, you and your family can enjoy eating and talking and not have to worry about preparing any food, or cleaning up at all after the meal. Going to a restaurant has its advantages, but that does not mean it is the perfect or ideal place to host your next family reunion.

For most people, a family reunion takes place during the warmer months and is the perfect event to structure around an outdoor picnic. This way, size is not an issue, as you can gather as many people as you want in a single outdoor space.

If you choose to have a picnic, you can go about feeding your family in a couple of ways. First, you may be inclined to hire an outside organization, such as a catering company, handle the preparation of all the food and drink that you want to be served. This is advantageous much the way going to a restaurant is, as you do not need to worry about setting up or cleaning up before and after the event. Another popular option is to have every member of your family come with a dish that they made on their own. Putting all these foods together makes for a wonderful, delicious and homemade spread to choose and pick from.

Therefore, the best way to organize and throw a successful daytime birthday party is to reserve a private outdoor space for you and your friends to enjoy. You can eat and drink whatever you want, and everybody will be able to enjoy one another and socialize to their hearts' content.

Along the same vein, some days might be excruciatingly hot. Having all your family sitting outside in the sun for an entire afternoon might be more than they can handle. But just as outdoor instant shelters protect people from the rain, they also provide relief from the sun and the blazing heat that can sometimes be too hot to handle.

Having an outdoor party is a fantastic and very original way to celebrate your birthday. With an outdoor instant shelter by your side, you won't have to worry about the weather leaving you or your guests stuck out to dry. Go ahead and enjoy your big day, rain or shine!
