Timex And Clark

By Oliver Richard

Let's go back to a long time ago when men were men, women were women, and tumbleweeds were people too. The Timex company started up in the year 1880 with a cheap pocket watch, and ever since then they've been making all sorts of watches. They even made the first Micky Mouse watch under the blessing of Walt Disney himself though they were usually released under different names, particularly the Ingersoll brand.

Having been around for more than a hundred years it's pretty certain that the Timex watches are a force to be reckoned with, especially in a market where stopwatches are all the rage. So let's look at one of the best watches that Timex has made so far and you can decide for yourself whether or not it's the best choice for you.

The watch that we are going to look at today is the Timex 5h3681 Ironman Watch. This is a very nice Stopwatch and it comes with a night light so that you can keep track of the laps even on the darkest of nights. Not only that, it actually has a 99 lap counter and is able to recall fifty of those laps. There are two different timers that can be set for up to twenty four hours each, and it has three different alarms.

Whether you use your stopwatch for track, swimming laps at the pool or on the field you will find this stopwatch immensely useful in whatever use you have for it. This Timex stopwatch is also waterproof eliminating any concern if it should get wet. It is difficult to imagine needing anything else but we will take a look at a competitor of Timex.

The Clark Stopwatch Company specializes in a more conventional mechanical type of stopwatch. These stopwatches are made from a combination of nickel and chromium. They are capable of timing fifth and tenth of a second, TMU, minute and hour decimal and various other timing choices. The Clark Stopwatch Company has been in business for many years and if their watches are in need of repair they are there for that, also, plus for watches from other companies.

If you are up for a bit of nostalgia, or just don't like the idea of a digital stopwatch, then this is definitely the route for you to take. Just remember that mechanical stopwatches aren't going to have the same abilities as the digital stopwatches. Some things that you will sacrifice are lap memory and probably waterproofing, though it's not inconceivable for a mechanical stopwatch to be waterproof to an extent.

Timex and Clark and the two main makers of stopwatches, but they are also very different from each other. The one you choose to purchase will depend upon what kind of technology you want. There are many other stopwatch companies with products on the market, too. These should be taken into consideration also since another watch maker might just have the perfect stopwatch for you.
