From The Director of Other Popular Anime DVDs Comes the Release of Gunparade March on DVD.

Gunparade March Volume 1 is a new anime series which is based on the popular Playstation video game. The new DVD will be released in August 2009 and will feature the first four episodes of the 12 episode series. The series is directed by Katsushi Sakurabi and the story follows a group of young men and women who are fresh out of high school but have been drafted into the army in order to protect their world from the threats of invasion.

The DVD series is very light hearted and follows the story of several young men and women who are students but have been drafted by the Japanese Military in order to fight. Since the end of World War 2, alien invasion has been a huge problem and therefore the Japanese Military have been recruiting any students aged between 16 and 21 in order to fight. The story also includes various sci-fi elements such as alien invaders using Humanoid Walking Tanks. There are several main characters but one of them, Mai Shubamura, is a mysterious young girl who ends up affecting all of the people who meet her.

The story background that you might want to know if you're planning on buying the DVD is as follows. At the end of World War 2, in 1945, aliens threatened the earth by filling the skies and for the first time in human history, people of all backgrounds and cultures came together to fight.

The story continues fifty years later where the Japanese Military are recruiting those ages between 16 and 21 by an enforced student draft to fight. The popular story of Gunparade March Volume 1 includes various sci-fi elements such as alien invaders using Humanoid Walking Tanks.

Gunparade March Volume 1 includes the first four episodes of the series, namely, Playback - The Visitors; Do Whatever You Want - Going My Way; Summertime Blues - Fireworks; Let's Have Tea Together - Duellist. This new DVD will certainly be accessible for all and is a very exciting release for many anime fans, throughout the world.
