Interesting Facts About Watching TV On PC

By Joanne Keith

It is really an exciting technology breakthrough so that watching TV on the PC is doable without you having to install the visually-obtrusive satellite dish and messy cables. What gets better is that you do not need to pay expensive bill and can enjoy as much as 5000 TV channels at any time and any place.

All that is required is for you to download a software and connect it to the internet. Ideally, you need a broadband connection if you expect quicker streaming and higher picture quality.

As said, you have access to a big selection of TV channels in any category you can think about, such as movies, news, music, sports, fashion, and even documentary. Many of these programs are sourced from the TV stations in English-speaking countries, including CNN International, Espn Network, Discovery Channel, Show TV, Research TV, Comedy Central, and many many others. With a better satellite TV service, you get to watch TV programs from over 100 countries worldwide, including non-English countries such as Brazil, Albania, Bolivia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, etc. This means you are literally accessing around 5000 channels, although the qualities are not the same.

You can enjoy most of the TV programs from North America and Europe (such as USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain and Frances) 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Other TV channels run according to their own schedules.

When choosing your online TV software, you may find that there are both free and paid services. Although most people are more inclined to get a free one, you need to know that there are limitations with free software. First, there is not enough support after download; Second, they do not offer the same picture quality and channel choices; Third, those software often come with doubtful addons which either infects your PC or stuff ads onto your face.

The paid services charge you a fee, but in most cases you will find it really worthwhile. They do not just provide you with better quality and wider channel choices, but also excellent support and protection against spyware and adware. Some services asks for monthly payment, but they are not necessarily the best. If you are lucky, you will be able to find good services that grant you access to thousands of TV channels for a one time investment of no more than 50 bucks.
